Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to ensure the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines by following diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for issues, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools while examining the form and texture of parts.
• Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts with rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
• Monitor compliance and control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Maintain equipment, part, and supplies inventories by checking stock levels, anticipating needed items, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
• Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
• Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.
• Ensure continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Essential Skills

• Technical understanding of equipment maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with PLC troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to work under supervision.
• Experience with power tools and basic safety practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Tech Level 2: 5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience, 480v troubleshooting and repair, experience with sensors, VFDs, and PLC knowledge.
• Tech Level 1: Certificate in Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Automation, or Engineering, or relatable experience with mechanical or electrical systems.
• Bilingual in Spanish is an advantage.
• Experience with steam cooking kettles, vertical baggers, spiral freezers is preferred for day shift tech.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $62400.00/yr.
