Job Description

A full-time Library Media Specialist position is available for the 2025-2026 school year at a middle school located in Fairfax, South Carolina. This role offers a full-semester contract running from July 28, 2025, through June 2, 2026, providing consistent full-time hours at 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and develop library resources and media collections to support curriculum and student learning.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources in classroom instruction.
• Teach information literacy skills and research strategies to middle school students.
• Oversee the use of technology and digital media within the library environment.
• Maintain an organized, welcoming, and effective library space that encourages student engagement.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Library Media Specialist or similar role, preferably in a middle school setting.
• Strong knowledge of library science principles and media resource management.
• Ability to integrate technology into learning and promote digital literacy.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators and students.
• Commitment to supporting educational goals and enhancing student learning through library services.
