Lilac Ridge LLC is an accredited residential BRS foster care group home agency, contracted with the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF). Going on five years of experience, we specialize in providing care for children ages 6 to 18 with unique needs through our BRS program in Spokane Valley. We are currently seeking dedicated Direct Care staff to join our team in creating stable, supportive, and predictable environments for the children who need it most. Responsibilities:

The Direct Care Staff is responsible for providing individualized care and support to youth in a residential Behavioral Rehabilitation Services (BRS) foster care setting. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, cooking, cleaning, and medication management. The Direct Care Staff works closely with the Program Manager to facilitate communication, behavior management plans, therapeutic activities, and ensure the overall well-being of residents. Staff will also assist with medical needs, transportation, and community outings, creating a safe, supportive, and structured environment for the children in care.

  • Provide individualized support to children in areas such as personal hygiene, grooming, cooking, cleaning, socialization, recreation, self-medication, sewing, menu planning, and food purchasing. Support clients as needed in physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy.
  • Actively participate in team meetings to assess youth progress, adjust treatment plans, and share updates regarding behavioral concerns or operational issues. Work closely with the Program Manager to facilitate communication and support visits as needed.
  • Coordinate and manage transportation logistics for clients, ensuring safe travel to appointments, community outings, and other scheduled activities. Must be able to safely operate a personal vehicle for client transport. The Direct Care Staff must maintain a valid drivers license, have access to a reliable, insured vehicle, and ensure that the vehicle has up-to-date registration and insurance.
  • Facilitate therapeutic activities to promote the development of coping skills, self-esteem, and social skills. Engage children in both individual and group outings and recreational activities that foster positive peer interactions.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, data collection, and other required records in compliance with agency policies and regulatory standards.
  • Assist residents with medical needs, including assisting with healthcare appointments and transportation. Support clients with self-care and medication management in line with the individual treatment plans.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality standards to protect the privacy of clients, ensuring that no sensitive information is disclosed without proper authorization, in accordance with HIPAA.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to perform crisis intervention techniquessuch as de-escalation, redirection, and safe physical supportstaught through Right Response , a certified training program focused on managing behavioral emergencies with safety and compassion.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, clean, cook, and move throughout the home environment, including using stairs.

Available Hours:

  • Monday to Sunday, with preferred shifts from 3:00 PM 11:00 PM and 11:00 PM 7:00 AM.
  • Consistent weekend availability for all shifts 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM 11:00 PM and 11:00 PM 7:00 AM.
  • Full-time and part-time positions available, with flexible hours ranging from 24 to 48 hours per week.

MUST HAVE WEEKEND AVAILABILITY

Our residential settings operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Compensation: $20$22 per hour, based on experience. All new employees will begin with a 90-day probationary period.

Minimum Requirements:

A minimum of 6 months of documented full-time professional experience working with youth or vulnerable populations in one or more of the following settings:

  • State-licensed in-home or facility-based daycare, or as a professional nanny
  • School setting or early learning center
  • Juvenile rehabilitation facility, detention center, law enforcement, or corrections
  • Child placing agency, residential care program, or as a licensed foster parent
  • Working directly with children or families in a community service organization
  • And more..

OR

  • An Associate's Degree in Human Services or a related field, or completion of two (2) years of coursework toward a relevant degree.

Additional Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • A valid drivers license and proof of car insurance
  • Training or experience in behavior management is preferred
